Karen Ch. Linares -
Youth Engagement Consultant
Karen is an artist, grad student, college recruiter, environmentalist, social justice student activist, and documentarian. Her personal experiences growing up in Van Nuys, attending public school, matriculating in a two-year college and then transferring to a 4-year University have afforded Karen the knowledge and know how in engaging youth. She has a true understanding of today’s youth and can easily translate complicated topics to make them youth relevant.
Karen graduated from Los Angeles Valley College in 2007 with an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. She then transferred to California State University, Northridge to complete her BA in Chicano/a Studies in 2009 and is currently working on her Masters degree in Chicano/a Studies with an emphasis on water justice through visual art.
She believes that through love, positive reinforcement, education, the right support system, and community engagement, today's youth (and anyone in general) can shape their future into whatever they want. Everything and anything is possible.
